In Annaopolis, Maryland, the Council of Safety authorized the Baltimore Committee to expend 6,200 pounds for harbor defense, including a ripple boom across the entrance and a permanent fortification with a battery, barracks, and powder magazine.

In Cambridge, Lieutenant Dustin of Captain Farrington’s Company was tried at a General Court Martial for “Cowardice on the 7th of January last, when on Commands with a Detachment sent towards Bunkers-hill.”  He was unanimously acquitted with Honor by the Court and General Washington, after approving of the proceedings, ordered Lieutenant Dustin released from arrest.
